Peran Dan Kontribusi Perempuan Dalam Meningkatkan Pendapatan Keluarga Nelayan Di Desa Sumare Kabupaten Mamuju

Abstract

This research employs a qualitative approach. The aim of the study is to understand the role and contribution of women in increasing the income of fishermen in Sumare Village, Mamuju Regency, and to explore the motivations of fishermen's wives in improving their family income in Sumare Village, Mamuju Regency. The findings of the research indicate that women play a significant role
and contribute to helping their families, resulting in increased income and the fulfillment of household needs. The activities undertaken by the wives of fishermen to contribute and play a role include selling "es teler" (a traditional Indonesian dessert), selling fish, selling various mixed goods, and running food stalls. In addition to managing household chores, these women also engage in other work, such as helping to support the household economy. Their motivation is driven by support from their husbands, the uncertainty of their husbands' income, the generally low income, and government socialization efforts in Mamuju regarding the development and empowerment of women, especially in economic matters, particularly in Sumare Village, Mamuju Regency
